Growth Scan (Third-Trimester Ultrasound)

Fetal Growth Ultrasound Scan – Kathmandu

A third-trimester growth scan (usually at 32–36 weeks) checks your baby’s development in detail. It estimates fetal weight, measures head/abdomen circumference, and tracks growth pattern. At the same time, we assess amniotic fluid, placenta, and fetal position. Lomash Health offers growth scans to monitor late pregnancy progress and ensure your baby is growing normally. This non-invasive scan provides peace of mind for parents, especially in high-risk pregnancies (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) where close monitoring is essential.

What the Growth Scan Checks

  • Fetal size and weight: Measurements of head, abdomen, femur to estimate weight.
  • Growth patterns: Charts baby’s growth across visits to catch any slowing (IUGR) early.
  • Amniotic fluid: Ensures fluid levels are adequate for baby’s health.
  • Placenta and position: Examines placenta function and checks if baby is head-down (cephalic) in preparation for birth.
  • Blood flow (Doppler): Optional Doppler to check umbilical blood flow if indicated.

Why and When to Schedule

This scan is recommended around 32–36 weeks (final weeks) or as advised by your doctor. It is not routine for all pregnancies, but done for added assurance when risks exist. No special prep is needed. Come with a lightly filled bladder. Our experienced sonographers will perform the scan and review results immediately.
